South Carlsbad Camping Weekend

Hello Everyone!  We had a great time last weekend camping with our friends the Steinfeld family at the Carlsbad State Beach.  There were 6 adults and 5 kids ranging from ages 5 to 2.   It was wonderful to sleep in our tent while listening to the waves crash into the cliffs.  We were literally on the cliff and could see the ocean right over the fence.  The kids did awesome, playing soccer, riding their bikes, hitting the beach and building castles in the sand.  Marshmallows definitely helped at night during the bonfire and the only casualty we had was Dave losing his sandals at the beach.  Luckily Shane spotted them in the sand below our campsite the following morning and Dave ran down excited like a 2 year-old since the ocean didn't sweep them away during the night.

Luckily we didn't spot the Great White Shark that has been sited all along the coast these past few months but we did see some awesome pelicans flying over head.  Of course we took cover in fear of being shat on. :)  Us adults actually got to enjoy the ambiance of the bonfire while the kids passed out or watched TV in the tent at nighttime.  The trip was definitely a success and are looking forward to our next camping adventure!
